Prayer for studies

Lord, you are the source of all wisdom, and I ask you for a little of it for my studies.

Give me concentration. Take away the distractions I seek out and the ones that arrive uninvited. Let me sit down, open the material and stay.

Give me memory and understanding. May what I read make sense and stick. May I learn not just for the exam but for life — like Daniel, who received knowledge and understanding from you.

Give me discipline on the days when the will is missing and humility to ask for help when I do not understand. Keep me from comparing my pace with others'.

Calm my heart before what is still left to learn. You do not ask me to know everything today; you ask me to be faithful in what I can do today.

And on the day of the exam, remind me of what I studied, quiet my mind and guide my answers. The result I hand over to you. Amen.
