Scripture text
All Scripture on this site is quoted from the World English Bible (WEB), obtained from eBible.org. The WEB is a modern English update of the American Standard Version of 1901 and is dedicated to the public domain: it may be copied and shared freely. "World English Bible" is a trademark of eBible.org; we reproduce the text unchanged and identify it on every page that quotes Scripture.
We do not use copyrighted translations (such as the NIV, ESV, NLT or NKJV). If you spot a typo in the Bible text, let us know: we compare it with the source and, when the issue is upstream, report it to the WEB maintainers.
Prayers
The prayers published under Prayers are of two kinds, always identified on the page:
- Traditional prayers (the Lord's Prayer, the Hail Mary, the Apostles' Creed, Psalm 23 as a prayer): public-domain texts, transcribed from Scripture or from Christian tradition, with the source indicated.
- Original prayers: written by this site's team. They are not copied from other websites, apps or books, and you are free to use them in your own prayer life.
Book introductions, topics, reflections and articles
The book introductions, topic pages, verse explanations, the "Word of the day" and the articles are original texts, written by a writer with theological training and reviewed by a second reviewer. We try to stay within what Christian traditions hold in common and avoid claims that belong to a single denomination.
Images
The images from the verse image maker are composed in your browser from gradients, textures and simple shapes that we created. We do not use photographs or third-party material. The images you generate are yours to share.
