This Bible verse image generator builds the post in your browser: you choose the text, the background and the font, and the artwork is drawn on the spot at full resolution. The default format is the 1080×1920 vertical Story, with Instagram's safe zones already marked — your text never ends up hidden behind your username, the reactions or the reply bar.

How to use it

  1. Pick the verse. Type the reference (for example, John 3:16) or a word from the text. You can also land here from the "share" button next to every verse on the Bible pages.
  2. Pick the format. Story (9:16) is the default. For the feed, use 1:1 or 4:5.
  3. Pick the background and the font. There are 14 backgrounds we designed ourselves — sunset, night sky, wheat field, ocean, paper, minimal dark — and four font pairings.
  4. Download or share. On a phone, Share opens the system sheet and sends the image straight to Instagram, WhatsApp or wherever you want. On a computer, Download PNG saves the file.

About Story safe zones

Instagram covers part of the screen with its own interface. In practice that means keeping roughly 250 pixels clear at the top and 340 pixels at the bottom of a 1080×1920 image. The generator respects those margins automatically and shows the shaded area in the preview so you can check before posting.

About rights

The images are composed from gradients, textures and geometric shapes we created — no photographs and no third-party material. The Bible text comes from a public-domain or openly licensed translation, credited in the footer of every page. In short: the image you generate is yours to post, print or send to anyone.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the image?

Story: 1080×1920 pixels. Square feed: 1080×1080. Vertical feed: 1080×1350. The file is a PNG and always comes out at exactly those dimensions, whatever screen you are on.

Do I need to pay or sign up?

No. The generator is free, requires no account and runs entirely in your browser — no image is ever uploaded to a server.

Can I use the images for my church or my social media?

Yes. The backgrounds are made by us and the Bible text is public domain or openly licensed, with the attribution shown on the site. Use them freely.

How do I put the image on an Instagram Story?

On a phone, tap Share: the system sheet opens with the Instagram option. If you prefer, download the PNG and post it from your gallery.

Can I remove the site name from the image?

Yes. Uncheck “Show the site name” before downloading.
