Prayer for healing

To ask for healing for yourself or someone else: with hope, with surrender and with a request for wisdom for those who care.

Lord, you are the God who heals. I come to you for (your name or the person's name) and lay this illness before you, hiding neither the fear nor the hope.

Touch this body. Where there is pain, bring relief; where there is disease, bring restoration; where there is exhaustion, bring strength. You know every cell and every test result better than the doctors — and still I pray for them: give wisdom to every professional who cares, accuracy in diagnosis and success in treatment.

Heal also what does not show up in the tests: the discouragement, the anxiety of the nights, the feeling of being a burden. Sustain faith on the days when improvement is slow.

I ask for complete healing. And, at the same time, I hand the outcome over to you. If the answer comes another way or at another time, give us your grace, which is sufficient, and the certainty that you do not step away.

Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved. In Jesus' name. Amen.
