Prayer for mind and heart

A prayer for days of anxiety and emotional exhaustion, asking for peace, clarity and courage to seek help when needed.

Lord, my mind is tired. The thoughts race, repeat, pile up. My heart is tight and I cannot explain why. I come to you just as I am.

Calm me. I do not ask you to take away all the questions, but to give me your peace in the middle of them — the peace that surpasses understanding and guards heart and mind.

Help me separate what is real from what is fear. Help me do one thing at a time, breathe before I answer, sleep without guilt, eat, step out into the sun.

Take away the shame of being like this. You do not love me less because I am tired. Elijah, David, Jeremiah — so many of yours felt at the bottom of the pit, and you fed them before any sermon.

If I need professional help, give me courage to seek it and wisdom to recognize that this too is one of your paths. Put good people at my side. Do not let me isolate myself.

Renew my mind, day after day. I trust that you lift me out of the pit and set me on the rock. Amen.
