Morning

Good morning prayer

A light prayer to start the day with thanks, good for reading aloud or sending to someone first thing.

Good morning, Lord. This is the day you have made, and I want to rejoice in it — not because everything is solved, but because you are here.

Thank you for the sun rising again, for the bed that held me, for the coffee waiting for me, for the people who will say my name today. Thank you for the small things I usually forget to thank you for.

I hand you my plans. If they are good, confirm them; if they are not, change them without my resisting. Give me eyes to see the opportunities to do good and courage not to let them pass.

Bless whoever is waking up tired, whoever has a hard meeting, whoever is in a hospital, whoever is taking an exam, whoever needs an answer. Remind each one that you forget no one.

And give me a light heart, Lord: light enough to forgive, light enough to smile, light enough to start over. May I end this day with more gratitude than I began it. Amen.
