Family morning prayer

Lord, here is our family, gathered before each of us goes our own way. Thank you for this house, for this table and for every person around it.

We hand you each one's day. (Say each person's name and a word about their day: school, work, the appointment, the test.) Go with each of them, Lord. Keep them on the streets, in classrooms, in offices, on the road.

Give us patience with one another when we come home tired. Help us speak kindly, apologize when we are wrong and forgive without delay. May this home be a place of peace where everyone wants to return.

Care for those who are not here today: the grandparents, the distant relatives, the friends going through hard times. Let them feel remembered.

And may we, at the end of the day, find each other again around this table, with stories to tell and reasons to give thanks. In Jesus' name. Amen.
