Prayer of thanks for an answered prayer

Lord, I came back. Ten were healed and only one returned to give thanks; I do not want to be one of the nine.

You heard my prayer. I asked you for (say what it was) and you answered. Perhaps not exactly as I imagined, perhaps not on the day I wanted, but you answered. I recognize your hand in it.

Thank you for not tiring of my repeated requests. Thank you for the people you used along the way — those who helped, those who prayed with me, those who brought the news. Thank you for sustaining me in the waiting, when I thought it would not work out.

May I not forget this answer when the next difficulty comes. May it become memory, and may the memory become faith. I want to tell someone what you did, so that the gratitude does not stay only with me.

And teach me to use well what I received: the health, the job, the peace, the second chance. May this grace bear fruit.
