Bible verses about prosperity
Prosperity is one of the most misused words in the Bible's name, so it is worth starting with what it does not promise: wealth as a reward for faith. When Joshua 1:8 speaks of making "your way prosperous", the context is obeying the Word and succeeding in the mission received. Psalm 1 compares the righteous to a tree planted by streams of water, bearing fruit in its season — an image of stability, not abundance. Proverbs says the blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow, and Paul promises that God supplies our needs (not our wants). The verses on this page are for praying over work, the harvest, the business and the family, with gratitude for what there is and without demanding from God what He did not promise.
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

Does the Bible promise financial prosperity to those who have faith?
No. It promises that God supplies our needs (Philippians 4:19) and calls for contentment (1 Timothy 6:6-8). Many faithful people in the Bible were poor; wealth is not a measure of faith.

To succeed in the way God gave — in Joshua's case, leading the people. The condition is meditating on the Word and doing it, not a technique for getting rich.
